Privacy
Turnleft Fares is run by [owner’s full name], a sole trader in Australia (ABN [ABN]). This page explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why, and who else handles it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Your e-mail address, when you become a member, sign in, join the free weekly digest, or leave it with a feature request.
- Your membership details: plan, status, renewal date and your Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your card number.
- Your alert preferences (airports, cabins, discount, trip types, price limit) and whether you want alerts by e-mail.
- A sign-in cookie (
tl_session) that keeps you signed in for up to 60 days. It is the only cookie we set, and only once you sign in or buy. - Basic technical data our host keeps to run and protect the site, such as IP addresses in short-lived logs and rate limits. Our visitor statistics are cookie-free.
How we use it
To run your membership, send the alerts you asked for, send the digest if you joined it, answer you, stop abuse, and meet our legal and tax obligations. We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions and invoices. It receives your payment details directly; see stripe.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores our account database and sends our e-mails (sign-in links, the digest and fare alerts) from turnleftfares.com. Fare alerts go out in batches with every recipient in Bcc, so members never see each other’s addresses.
These providers may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We only use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
Account details for as long as you have an account, and billing records for as long as tax law requires (generally five years). Digest addresses until you unsubscribe. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the digest with the link in every e-mail, turn alerts off in your account, and cancel your membership at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by e-mailing [contact e-mail]. If you’re unhappy with how we handled a privacy request, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
